Moscow By Night
Moscow city is beautiful at night. During this tour you will see a lot of famous places, buildings and streets. The illuminated architecture of the buildings are gourgeous when starting dark. All my clinets had only the BEST impressions from this tour and loved Moscow!
I've posted already a lot of interesting pictures of the cathedral of Christ the Savoir, but this time I decided to take a little bit different angle to show you more details of decorations of patriarch bridge. This picture I took without a tripod, from my hands, of course, it was not easy to take the sharp picture, but after several attempts I had the success. From the fence of this bridge I took another nice picture "Night view of Moscow Kremlin", which I recently added into my photo album "Moscow at Night".
Short history of this famous cathedral:
The Cathedral of Christ the Savior is a great monument to Russian military glory and superb example of Russian architecture. It was opened in 1883, in a memory of Russian victory over Napoleon in 1812. This Cathedral had been under construction for about 40 years (1839-1883), but it was destroyed in one day, in December 5th, 1931 - during the Stalin's time, because communists decided to build "Soviet Palace" for their meetings. The Cathedral was recovered during 1995 - 2000. The pedestrian bridge, called Patriarch Bridge, was added in 2004 to finish architectural ensemble surrounding this cathedral.
