My Family
Personal pictures of my family - me, my wife Olga and our lovely pets created not only by requests of my former clients, but also I hope that it will be interesting to see my family photos for all visitors of my website.
Here is the picture of my hairless (born bald) cat which I took a week ago by my new camera Nikon D300 in our living room. Her nickname is Lilu, she is very smart and I love and treat her very much!
Here is the note of my friend and former client from US, Dawn, who can clear up the title I choose for this picture: "your kitty is what I would say creepy cool! (don't take that in a bad way; I say creepy because most cats have hair and this one is most unusual) Honestly, what a cool cat! How rare is that breed and it must have cost you loads of money!"
Answering on Dawn's guess about the money we paid for this cat, I can be honest and tell that we bought her 3 years ago when she was 1 months old from our friend for a little price, about $100. In those times average price in Moscow for kittens of this breed was about $300-$400.. Now I think the price became lower and when we had kittens from her we sold them for $200-$400 depending on quality of a kitten.
Interesting info about our cat and the breed of Donskoy Sphinx:
The temperature of her body is about 40 degrees C, the skin is fine and elastic ... anybody has inexpressible feelings when holding the cat in his hands and stroke her... She is very cute, on winter time my wife makes clothing for her...
Donskoy Sphinx are completely furless breed. They have very large ears, compact bodies and big paw pads. Donskoys have surprisingly long toes. They have flat faces but sport sharp features and almond shaped eyes.
The specific feature of this breed is hairlessness caused by spontaneous dominant mutation. H.Kovaljiova in Rostov-on-Don (South of Russia), found these cats in 1987, that is why the breed was called "Donskoy" by the name of region where the breed was founded.
