Repetition of Victory Parade
The general repetition of Victory Parade in honour of 63rd anniversary of the Great Victory (1945) passed on May 5th. In the military parade on May 9th (Victory Day) will participate about 7000 members of the armed forces plus 400 troopers in mechanized military motorcades, but also it will be brought into play 32 aircrafts of Air Forces of Russian Federation.

On May 9th 2008 it will be the first parade during the last 17 years (after Soviet times and crash of USSR), when during the military parade it will be used tanks, rockets and even aircrafts reestablishing military traditions of our country to commemorate more than 27 million soldiers and civilians, who died during the war 1941-1945, and glorify might of our nations who were able to stand and to win the war against Nazy Germany.

On May 5th, during the general repetition of the military parade dedicated to 63th Anniversary of our Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), tracks and tanks filled whole Tverskaya street on the way to the Red Square. It was the last repetition of military parade which will be on the Red Square on May 9th (Victory day) 2008.

I came to the area nearby the Moscow Kremlin very early this morning in a hope to find a good spot to take some interesting pictures and I was waiting more than 2 hours to see this event. All streets surrounding the Moscow Kremlin were cordoned by police, army and special services. The best place I decided to choose was beginning of Tverskaya street right near a new Ritz Carlton hotel (opened in August 2007) where it was a great overview of moving all weaponry down a hill. Before they started to move to the Red Square they was standing on the hill more than 1 hour and special services with dogs checked every tank or fighting vehicle probably for explosive materials (it was my guess).

With BEST Regards,
Arthur Lookyanov
