Guard Mounting Ceremony
Guard Mounting Ceremony by Old Traditions from time of Peter I (The Great) is considered nowadays to be one of the most fascinating and spectacular military ceremonies in the World. It was reinstated by the Russian Government on Saturday 16th of April 2005 and during summer season (from April till October) takes place every Saturday on the Cathedral Square inside the Moscow Kremlin, at noon sharp when Kremlin chimes strike twelve on the Red Square clock tower, or at 2 PM on the Red Square on the last Saturday of a month.
Reestablished to promote the Kremlin Tours, the ceremony of changing of the guards strikes and greatly surprises Russian citizens and tourists from other countries who have already had a chance to see one in London's Buckingham Palace (all my clients who had been in London before, told me that in Moscow is best in the World ). Duration of the fascinating ceremony according Russian military traditions from the times of Peter the Great is about 25 minutes.
